Remote Recall Software V1.30
(For use only in Windows PC. Not in Total Recall.)

RELEASE NOTES &
UPGRADE PROCEDURE

Release Date:  June 21, 2001

For use only with archive discs created with older "TR" series of Total Recall recorders. Not for use with newer "TRL", "TRR", and "TR-MAX" series of recorders. The newer recorders use Remote Manager software. Remote manager software will play archive disks from both the older recorders and the newer recorders.

bulletAn additional option has been added within the 'Direct Connection' window to allow the user to turn off the 'Beep whenever a new call comes in' feature.  This ''beep'' was sometimes an annoyance to the user.

bulletAn additional 'Recorder' column has been added to display the Recorder ID of the Total Recall unit from which the call originated.  If the call comes from a version of software earlier than V2.00, then the Recorder ID is simply left blank.

bulletAn extra tab has been added to the Customize Options dialog box. This tab (Call Source) allows the user to change the call source without going back to the Toolbar. It also provides extra information to avoid confusion.

Bug Corrections

bulletWhen searching for calls from channel 16, you found calls from channel 1, 6 and 16. This has been resolved.
bulletThe 'Merge Duplicate Calls' function has been improved, as it now ignores tagging and 'archived' flags.

Software Upgrade Procedure:

1.       Insert the Remote Recall CD in a multimedia PC, and follow the on-screen set-up instructions.

2.       If the install did not Auto start choose Start/Run/D:/INSTALLREMOTERECALL.EXE (substitute another CD drive letter if necessary).

3.       After installation, the Remote Recall screen will auto-load on the PC. Remove the install CD.

4.       Insert an archive CD with calls that have been created on Total Recall.

5.       Click the CD icon in the top left corner of the screen. An Options to Customize dialog box will open, listing the archived sessions on the CD. Select All or any number of the sessions and click OK.

6.       The window will show the calls loading from the CD, followed by a listing of the call details in  the Remote Recall lower window.

        7.       Find the desired call(s) using the search options.

        8.      Highlight and double click on any call. A dialog box will appear showing
Converting the Call, and then the call will automatically play.

Remote Recall V 1.20
Release Notes

04 December 2000

We are pleased to announce the release of Remote Recall V1.20 (the previous release was V1.10). New user features have been implemented in V1.20 as detailed below:

Features introduced

When a user highlights several calls and then selects 'File | Save Calls' (or presses the button ) Remote Recall used to prompt the user for every single filename, which could become tedious when multiple calls were highlighted.

We have improved this. Now, when more than one call is highlighted, the user is asked the following question (with 'Save all calls to this single location') as the default:

In previous versions of Remote Recall, you could not email multiple calls.

This is now possible, with the additional feature that a summary of the calls is automatically put in the body of the email.

Minor Changes

You can now go through the 'Tip of the Day' list as many times as you like. Previously the user was allowed to go through only once.

Several dialog boxes were resizable, rather than fixed size. They are now fixed size.

The wording of the 'Confirm Multiple Files' dialog box was misleading. This has been corrected.

If the user cancelled sending an email (under some conditions) they were presented with the error message 'MAPI Error #1 - Aborted ..'. Although technically correct it was a rather disturbing way to tell the user they had cancelled rather than sent the email! This has been revised.

Installation Notes

MFC42.DLL is now installed. Previous installations relied on it being already on the users PC.

MSVCRT.DLL is now installed. Previous installations relied on it being already on the users PC.

Problems with using InstallShield on some PCs have been corrected.
